Polygon Cruncher crashes max everytime

I have polygon chruncher 7.63 installed on Max 8 and it crashes Max everytime I try to optimize any max object.
I uminstalled and reinstalled numerous times, I have no other plugins installed, does anyone know what's happening?

Hey everyone,

I just downloaded and installed the Polygon Cruncher for 3ds max 8. When I tried to launch it it crashes Max completely though. Do I need to install the previous ones too or what? I really really could use this program so it'd be so nice to get it running.

Hello,

It seems that there is a problem on some computers with the latest release.

Someone report that settings the polygoncruncher*.dlu in the plugins directory instead stplugs works fine.
Otherwise I suggest to delete the 3dprefs.prefs which could be in the stdplugs folder.

I did not succeed in reproducing the problem.
I will be working on this point in the coming days.

I just bought and installed polygon Cruncher 7.8 (though the dlu is labelled 7.9?), and I'm having the same problem. It crashes max completely when I hit apply.

max 9, 32 bit
winxp


The demo worked great. I'm dissapointed that it stopped working after I gave you money.

This is a really strange issue. I have no problem with Polygon Cruncher for 3ds Max 9.
Please could you tell me what is your graphic card?

I also need to know when the crash occurs:

a) When 3ds Max is launched
b) When you select an object and click on Polygon Cruncher button in the utility plugin
c) When you optimize the mesh
d) When you send back the mesh from Polygon Cruncher to 3ds Max.

You also said that the software works in demo mode. Did you set it up again after purchasing it?
If so, I guess you setup a different version than the one you were using in demo mode.
