With Polygon Cruncher, we can create differents LOD for one model but it generate 1 file per LOD model.
Is it possible to "merge" all LOD models in one file ?
It is possible to do this manually like that :
https://forums.unrealengine.com/communi ... viewfull=1 (Step 3 and 4)
but if Polygon Cruncher can do this "automatically" with option like "mergeLod", it will be fantastic !

Re: Lod "merge"
Hi Motus,
There is no way to export each LOD in the same file in Polygon Cruncher.
But there is such a feature in 3DBrowser.
You can open a set of file and merge them to the same scene (Merge files to scene)
Then it is possible to export back the merged scene to a single file.
I don't know if it matches your requirement exactly.
If you can give more details on the exact way you expect such feature work.
For example, what is your export format?
What about the naming convention of each LOD in the scene?
What does it gives if there is several meshes in the original scene?
Any clarification would be useful to integrate such feature!
Thanks,
Manuel

Re: Lod "merge"
Hi Manuel,
I will test merge in scenery into 3D Browser and see result in Max. I think I will need to Group all objects and declare them into LOD in 3DS Max.
I will try to do this this week-end and give you result.

Re: Lod "merge"
Hi,
I have made a small test. Take a model, use Polygon Cruncher to create automated LODs : OK
Use 3D Browser to merge all models : OK and save as FBX
Import FBX into Max, load OK but there is a lot of groups (too many !). If I try to move into "Selection" Max 2015 crash with error.
I can send you the model if you want to try to reproduce that.

Hi,
Yes, you can send us the model as well as the merged LOD FBX.
Or you can post a capture of the model scene graph and a capture of the merged LOD FBX scene graph.
In your opinions, what would be the ideal scene graph for the merged LOD file?
Thanks,
Manuel
