Export

Post by saltcoatslad » Wed Jul 20, 2016 9:48 pm

Hi may i ask when and if the ability to batch save models/assets at 100% will be available, the ability to batch convert from say .x to fbx is great but the ability to batch save them so they are the same as the original no poly reduction would be amazing.

One of the reasons i ask for this is due to you using the newest fbx sdk and what this does for me is rotate my models so say i batch convert 300 models with say 3 lod stages they are all rotated but the original stays uninfected unless i manually convert them all one by one.

Thanks

Hi!

Sure this is possible to export at 100% so your mesh are not optimized. This should be possible and so your mesh will be correctly oriented.

I have no way to verify now and to ensure you this is possible. This is mootools summer break.

But you may try (batch feature is accessible during 7 days during the trial period)
Anyway I am 99% sure this is possible.

Hi thanks for getting back to me i guess i will wait till after the summer break as i have tried everything i can think of and i cant find a way to batch convert without it being optimised.

The 3 options you get is

Predefined vertex %
Automatic %
Optimal level

Even if you put 1 optimization levels from 100% in it outputs at 90%

I would use predefined level and enter 100%, but it seems you get only 90%.
I will look this point at my come back and take you informed.

Thanks,
Manuel

Thanks Manuel just a heads up if you use predefined level at 100% it does not output any files at all it says "Optimizing the scene to 100%

and if you use automatic and set it from 100% it gives you 99%

Hello,

Oups! Sorry I miss to reply. I apologize for this laaaaate answer.
I made some tries and there is currently no way to set a 0% optimization through the batch module.
The field become gray and the value is rejected.

I can suggest you to use the 3DBrowser batch module.

The batch feature is available from the toolbar

You can make a batch that loads your .x files (located in one or severals folders), then export it to fbx or whatever you want.
No optimization will be performed.

This capture shows a batch that loads files from d:\tmp\ and subfolders, merge points and save it to a location and a format defined by double clicking on destination files

You can download 3DBrowser here:

I hope this will help you,
Manuel
