Processing multiple components of assembly

Post by palosanto » Fri Nov 11, 2011 6:13 am

I am experimenting with Polygon Cruncher. I have a file with several components emported from a Rhino file in obj format. The object/layer names display correctly in PCruncher.
I seem unable to assign different degrees of optimization to each object as some are very complex and others very simple so they need to be treated differently for optimal results. Is there a way to assign a different % of reduction to each object and process the whole assembly at the end or I need to do it over and over for each object?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

No there is no way at the moment but it should come with the next release.
We are working on some deep improvements and this is one which is listed.

At the moment, you have to optimize the whole scene using a same global optimization ratio.
If you want to differentiate the optimization ratio, you have to perform the optimization several time on different part of the scene.

In the next release I hope we will be able to define a threshold ratio that will allow to start optimization on small mesh at the end of the process.

I hope this help,
Manuel

Thank you Manuel. I look forward to the next release.
Also, it would be great to be able to import native Rhino models ...

Best regards,
