I noticed that 3D Photo Browser does not handle VRML 2.0 files.
Is the VRML 2.0 support planned ?

Hello,

Yes, VRML 2.0 is not supported. I am still wondering if it should be integrated to 3D Photo Browser as VRML is less and less used.
If anybody else needs VRML 2.0, please post here. I'll may envisage to add the format if this is a huge request.

hi all!

VRML1 isn't used at all - it's death ..because everyone here is using VRML2! ;)

VRML2 is used in the scientific world and also for visualizing automatization processes in factories or even installation manuals for machines.(looks funny if you really watch them  )
VRML2 is a pro file format - VRML1 isn't, so you can't really say VRML is yet integrated in 3dBrowser until VRML2 output is ready.

chris

Please add support for VRML2!
VRML2 is the only version which is used in professional software - supporting only VRML1, makes 3DBrowser useless for converting proposals.

Hi !

Vrml 2.0 is supported by 3DBrowser - now since a long time as it came with version 12.02.
The software is able to read both VRML 1.0 and VRML 97 files also known as VRML 2.0.

This is not really in the todo list, because the format has been replaced by new one such collada or FBX. What is the software you use? Does it supports only VRML2? Is there no other format that can be import in it?

May be there is something I miss and VRML 2.0 output can be a good idea to add?

Vrml is a format in which you can add animations and events as well as javascript actions to objects - only with notepad .. thats why it's still a common format for scientific demos.

It's really not a big deal to go with collada, but collada is a geometry container without any scene intelligence.
