Information
and keywords associated to files
|
In order to organize your files, you can edit information such notes, title, keywords, author using the Information panel or Keywords panel. This information is accessible in several part of 3D Photo Browser thanks to tags. Using tags, you get access to this information in several features such search, contact sheet printing or slide show. This information can be imported/exported to/from a database.
By default, you can associate
this information to any files, even for files unrecognized by 3D Photo Browser.
However, you can change the catalogue
contents setting to enable or disable this functionality.
This information is kept when you move, copy or duplicate files from a directory
to another one (only if the operation is performed using 3D Photo Browser).
Information and album
Albums gather files that come from different directories. An album contains only reference to files. 3D Photo Browser synchronizes the information contained in the album with the original files information. When you open an album, 3D Photo Browser gets the information from the original files. If you modify the information from the album, 3D Photo Browser set back the information to the original files when you closed the album.
Information
and NTFS partition
For more safety, a part of this information is directly integrated within files if they are stored on an NTFS partition. You can access to this information through the Properties/Summary dialog from the Windows explorer. If you modify them using this dialog, the information is set back to the catalogue next time you open it.
For MP3 files, 3D Photo Browser displays additional fields for editing the track number, the album or the genre. This information is updated from the MP3 files and automatically set back to the MP3 files if you modified it.

Keywords are a quick way
for describing your files and retrieve them using the search feature. You can
associate as many keywords as you need. A predefined keywords list helps simplifies
the edition and ensure that a given keyword is always entered the same way from
a file to another one.
To add a keyword to the keywords list, enter it in the edition fields. Separate
keywords with semi column to enter several keywords. To remove keywords from
the list, select them then press Del key or use the delete icon, next to the
edition field.
When several files are selected, keywords that are common to the selection are bold displayed.
Predefined keywords list works the same way. To add one or more keywords from the predefined list, select them then click on the double arrows.
