2D editor / Modes & colors

Contrast
Version: for Dig. Cam. / for 3D Users
menu access: Edit / Modes & colors

This function increases or decreases the contrast of the image.

Decrease contrast Decreases the image contrast.

Increase contrast

Increases the image contrast.

Invert
Version: Light / for Dig. Cam. / for 3D Users
menu access: Edit / Modes & colors
keyboard access: N

This function inverts the image colors. You obtain the image negative.

Gamma Settings
Version: for Dig. Cam. / for 3D Users
menu access: Edit / Modes & colors
keyboard access: Ctrl + G

This functions adjusts colors or luminosity using a gamma curve.

Gamma global

When checked, gamma settings modifies RGB components simultaneous, which is a way to modify the image luminosity. Only the Global gamma slider is displayed.

When unchecked, you can modify independently each RGB components, which is a way to change the colorimetric balance. The Red, Green and Blue Gamma are displayed.

Red gamma

Adjusts the red component of the image. A value:

  • Greater than 1.0 increases red tint.
  • Egale to 1.0 does not modify red tint.
  • Lower than 1.0 decreases red tint.
Green gamma

Adjusts the green component of the image. A value:

  • Greater than 1.0 increases green tint.
  • Egale to 1.0 does not modify green tint.
  • Lower than 1.0 decreases green tint
Blue gamma

Adjusts the blue component of the image. A value:

  • Greater than 1.0 increases blue tint.
  • Egale to 1.0 does not modify blue tint.
  • Lower than 1.0 decreases blue tint.
Gamma global

Adjust image luminosity. A value:

  • Greater than 1.0 increases luminosity.
  • Egale to 1.0 does not modify luminosity.
  • Lower than 1.0 decreases luminosity.

Modify HSL
Version: for Dig. Cam. / for 3D Users
menu access: Edit / Modes & colors
keyboard access: Ctrl + U

This function adjusts image hue, saturation and luminosity.

Hue

Makes the hue rotate on the chromatic circle. Value is between -180° and +180°.
Image negative is obtained for value egal to -180° or 180°.

Saturation

Modifies image saturation. The greater the saturation, the brighter the colors.

  • 0% gives a grays level image.
  • 200% double image brightness.

This setting does not change anything on a grays levels image.

Luminosity

Changes the image luminosity.

  • 0 % turns image to black.
  • 200 % double image luminosity.
